Barrier paste is a proprietary formulation that is applied around sample sections on glass slides prior to immunohistochemistry. Barrier paste forms a hydrophobic barrier around your samples and reduces liquid loss (antibodies, reagents and etc.). Barrier paste dries in less than one minute, roughly six times faster than other commercially available products. Barrier paste is quite inert and will not harm most fluorophores, reagents or antibodies. The product is color coded for your convenience, enabling you to easily distinguish between different samples, treatments and users.

Barrier paste comes in 10ml clear glass bottles and is easily applied on glass slides using an attached brush. The clear glass provides the user with an accurate assessment of the reagent quantity, allowing better experiment planning and making sure you will never run out of Barrier Paste in the middle of an experiment.
The original proprietary formula for Barrier Paste can be adapted to fit special demands, such as slower drying times, higher or lower hydrophobicity, special additives etc. If you wish us to formulate a unique Barrier Paste to better fit your experimental setup please contact us.
